WELCOME to Ripsnorter Kennels where we have been breeding, showing, hunting and loving German Wirehaired Pointers for over 30 years.
We came up with our kennel name from the Oxford English Dictionary which states (rip/snor/ter) as someone or something exceptionally remarkable in appearance, quality and strength. Wirehairs are truly a versatile breed, finding fur and feather on all terrain and retrieve on land and water. Our breeding goals have always been to produce the versatile dog, one you can hunt behind and yet take in the show ring and be proud because it conforms to the breed standard and smart enough to do obedience, agility or rally.
Someday we would like to see a picture of a German Wirehaired Pointer next to the word RIPSNORTER in the dictionary.
